The Berlin Foundation for Dermatology is governed by a Board ("Kuratorium"), currently consisting of eight members, one of them being elected as the Managing Director and another as the Managing Vice-Director of the Foundation, at present Prof.Dr.C.E.Orfanos and Prof.Dr.Dr.Ch.C.Geilen correspondingly. Mrs. K.Kohler is heading the office of the Foundation at the Dresdner Bank in Berlin.
The Board meets twice a year, in spring and fall. As a rule, the applications are reviewed and decisions are taken on awards, fellowships or any other sponsoring during the fall meeting, based on the available and/or expected resources. The final results are communicated before the end of each year.
The Foundation aims to maintain and strengthen all personal contacts and cooperation among its alumni, awardees and fellowship-holders, and their interaction with German science and culture.
